Movement Interactive provides a safer sports environment for millions of young athletes who participate in organized sports activities. Eric Luster, our company founder, was inspired to develop the Hiji Band following the death of a high school athlete that suffered injuries on the field where his children play tackle football. This tragic event compelled us to take action; develop a breakthrough sensor technology to monitor and record impacts on athletes active in youth sports. We call this technology the Hiji Band.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, an estimated 3.8 million sports-related traumatic brain injuries occur each year. Most are overlooked and undetected. This is why we are committed to further developing the Hiji Band - our breakthrough and super-effective, wearable technology for young athletes. Our patent pending hardware and software solutions consist of impact-detecting sensors that fit comfortably and securely inside a player’s headband, coupled with computer software that automatically collects and stores impact data. The Hiji Band sends real-time alerts to key personnel via cell phone and other wireless devices when a player suffers any head impact. This summer we begin field trials of the Hiji Band in both college and professional soccer leagues. The data from this field research will allow us to further calibrate our sensors and fine-tune the impact assessment algorithms.
